LIVING IN SPAIN

LIVING IN SPAIN

When you buy a property in Spain you get so much more than bricks and mortar.

The Spanish lifestyle is second to none, and whether you intend to spend a few weeks

or most of the year here, we are sure you'll fall head over heels for this fantastic place we call home.

After all, this is the place where the sun shines for 325 days a year.

Where you can stroll along a golden beach, take in breathtaking mountain scenery,

go on a shopping spree and dine under the stars – all in one day.

As for the food, well if you've ever visited Spain you'll know it's fantastic. Try the local dishes or sample delicious tapas....

It's also incredibly healthy and this, along with the fabulous climate, abundance of outdoor activities and efficient health care system, makes Spanish residents among the healthiest and fittest in Europe.

The Spanish people are extremely friendly and adore children so if you are a family considering moving out here you will find it far easier to integrate and pick up the language when you have children. Also here in Spain the emphasis is on family especially inland where it is quite common to see generations of family eating out at 10pm or later. Children are welcome near enough everywhere. It is a much safer environment for children playing out in Spain.

Here in Spain you also get a lot more property for your money especially away from the Costas..

COST OF LIVING

With many things still costing less in Spain than the UK, spending time here is good for your bank balance as well as your state of mind.

Utilities, such as electricity and water rates are generally lower than in the UK. The average running cost of a Spanish home is around Spain €3,000 – €4,500, compared to 8,000€ in Britain.

BUYING THE GROCERIES

You’ll certainly notice the difference in your weekly food bill. Fresh fruit and vegetables in particular are fantastic value at the markets.

Prices vary from place to place, but expect to pay around 1€ for a draught beer and 9€ for a bottle of house wine. A meal out can cost anything from 7€ each for three courses including wine, up to 150€ each for a more extravagant meal.
